Zoe Drew

Volunteer

Zoe is an advisor for Construct Ability, driven by a deep passion for accessibility and inclusive design. Her dedication stems from both her professional experience working with disabled individuals and her own journey as a wheelchair user since 2014. She understands first-hand the challenges of navigating inaccessible environments and is committed to removing barriers that marginalise people based on ability or mobility.

Her work in accessibility includes advising, designing, and creating opportunities to prevent exclusion. She has played a key role in setting up disability-friendly sports clubs, developing marketing strategies for para-sports organisations, and working with businesses, community facilities, and outdoor play spaces to improve accessibility in new developments. Through these initiatives, she has demonstrated how thoughtful design can foster true inclusivity.

Zoe strongly believes that inclusive design should be prioritised from the outset of any construction project. By incorporating input from individuals with impairments or disabilities at the planning stage, accessibility becomes an integral part of development, rather than an afterthought. Her particular areas of focus include physical, mental, and neurodivergent accessibility, and she continues to expand her expertise to create a more inclusive and equitable built environment for all.
